Hi,
I placed an order with another company while there was the teething issues with the new site and received a disappointing board.
The cost was also a lot more than what I would have got via Dirty.
I was wondering weather I'd get the same quality via Dirty or weather you produce better boards? (Before I order and then complain).
The issue is that on the LQFP-48 chip there is no soldermask between the pins which is causing me issues in trying to solder. In the zoomed up photo there is just no soldermask at all.
Thanks -
Ryan
It all depends on the gerbers you send in :) most boardhouses can do it. Mostly it is an error in the gerbers. Can ou share them or a acreenshot of the lqfp48?
Here's a picture of the soldermask layer in gerbv.
I'm pretty pissed off as its hidden in about 5 pages of navigation that on packages like LQFP they remove the soldermask from the pins. Depending it cost about $150 after discounts for 25PCBs I wasn't impressed.
This is what I could find on dirtypcbs.com adn dev.dangerousprototypes.com:
Min solder dam 3mil(green)/3.5mil(black)
I should hopefully be fine then. Using gerbv I measured the widths and it measured about 5.75 Mil between each pin.
It's not mentioned in the specs, but there may be an additional mask relief between pad and printed mask. This ensures that the copper pads will not be covered with mask. If the mask relief is 2mil, the minimum required space between the copper pads would be 2+3+2=7mil, otherwise the mask would be rejected.
Well I've decided I'm going to give it a go. The price for 20 Via Dirty is about $50-75 Less which isn't as bad.
