Please place new orders here. The rendering cluster is up and running, you can submit gerbers and Eagle files*.
Here's some benefits of the dev site:
1. There are support tickets so you'll get better service
2. You can fix your own address mistakes
3. Upgrade shipping methods after you order
4. Refund your own order until it goes to the board house
5. Merge a new order with a previous order and save on shipping
6. Order SLA 3dprints and other stuff
7. Much better user PCB and 3dprint store with dashboards and stats
Probably within the week we will deprecate the old site and discontinue support for anything on this list. That means no shipping upgrades, address changes, order merging, etc for orders placed on the old site. Prices will increase at the old site to encourage you to move to the dev site.
When we're sure everything is running well, the old dirtypcbs scripts will be removed and become a branded portal that uses the new site as a backend.
*As always, using our online Eagle to gerber system is AT YOUR OWN RISK. It is always better to generate and preview your gerbers manually.
What will happen to the share credit/refund service and the share counts from the old site? I have quite a few not yet claimed at the old site (minding your support load). What do I need to do to 1. Get the current amount before the old site is closed? 2. Keep the board available to order from the new site? 3. Be able to follow up the number of shares from the new site? 4.9 Get credit/cash transfer from the new site?
I haven't ordered anything from the new site yet, so maybe there's some more info about these things when you do.
I made an order on the new site. I have the invoice and order number but i did not find any reference in the status page. Could you check that ?. Let me know if i can post the order number here or use other channels.
Tnx, Fabio
We will give all the credits from the new site when it is deprecated. Either as a coupon code or account credit for the new site (Sjaak has committed a user wallet feature), or as a cash payout if you prefer.
Fabio please let me know the number and we'll debug it.
I didn't notice this post and ordered between Sunday and Monday (28 Mar). Status already changed to "In production". I'm curious about what's going to happen ;)
Hi Ian, the invoice i printed reports : DEV-201115 PCB #896 date 2016-03-21 18:13:13
The transaction number is 6MP53596YV243810D.
The paypal email i received to confirm payment of 31$ reports "DangerousPrototypes Payment Order #201115"
and also "Merchant order number 1075".
Hope this help to track my order.
I uploaded a .brd file named 3DigitLED-A.zip
Fabio.
Hey, Ian! I originally placed an order on the 21st when the new site was operational and found out on the 28th that there was an issue with the gerbers. I updated the gerbers the same day and the status has changed to "Order Recieved." I prefer the gerbers get to the board house ASAP so they can be checked but I don't know if the maintenance is going to affect my order at all. Is all well or should I place the order on the old site instead?
Existing orders should push as normal. I've just shut down ability to place new ones.
If you don't see it change to in production please open a support ticket.
Any chance you could provide a full-page preview of the board? When submitting brd files it's really helpful to be able to see a good preview to confirm that everything came across correctly. Ideally there'd be a preview of each layer but at least creating a large preview would help.

What do you expect for a $14 pcb service? We deliver your boards in a black rolls royce at your doorstep on full moon? Check your board with the design rule check. If no errors your board will be fine (at least it wont break the boardhoude rules). Hard to tell if the board will work as intended though..
When you want fullcontroll make your own gerber and preview them. E.g. i use circuitpeople.com for that.

A black rolls is so yesteryear. Can we get gold for no extra cost? ;-)

No everyone submits their PCB's using Eaglecad brd formats. Using an on-line gerber viewer to review the pcb is my preference. If you want to give it a go, check out the one at circuitpeople:

Mhh, I though I asked politely, not sure why you need to respond in that tone. If you really want to know, OSH park has great previews and (in my limited experience) to the US the boards arrive significantly faster. I didn't know that rendering the previews costs you extra.
:-(

If I understand it correctly, OSH Park boards are manufactured in the US, so they would arrive faster.
Hi,
I am trying to order through the dangerousprototypes com/store/pcbs website
and not succeeding. I keep getting errors about the zip file not beeing recognized.
I designed a pcb with kicad and put the rs274x gerbers / excellon drill / pdf drill report
in a zip file for upload. The website complains everytime about the file not being
recognized.
I have tried different naming conventions for the zip file. I tried a zip file with only the
gerber and excellon files. I have tried a single gerber file for upload. Nothing worked.
I have uploaded the zip file , for testing, to circuitpeople and there the gerbers
are shown correctly.
My question is : what is the correct file format ?
Any information about that ?
Thanks,
roelof
Please forgive sjaak, he has a Dutch sense of humor and should also know that only I can scream at people here :)
full page rendering is now on the new site, just click on the image in the cart or on the order to see each layer and the composition rendering. Shortly we will also use a new rendering engine from Stijn at Its Not Rocket Science that is much better than what we've got now.
So, can you remove this thread to avoid confusion as the "new" site is going away?
