Title: Installing driver for USB Infrared Toy v2 windows 10

I just got my "Toy" from seeed (USB Infrared Toy v2) , and having problem installing it.
I got an error in the device manager, "unkown device" BUT windows recognised that a USB serial is detected and assigned com port for it.

Neither IRScope or AnalysIR can capture any IR signal. I do not know what you will need to help me out.

P.S. I used terminal command to test it by typing "t" in Putty I got FA20 !!!!!

I am stuck to what to do next ??

Hi

I just set up a Win10 system to compare.

Windows just recognised the IRTOy as a serial USB device.

Loaded up AnalysIR and it worked fine.

I did not load the DP driver for the toy as the standard Windows usbser seems to work.

Using AnalysIR, be sure to select the COM port first and only then select the IR Toy from the Source menu.

...forgot to mention...make sure you have the V22 firmware on the device.

Thank you for taking the time to test it on W10.
I have few issues:
1.When I checked the properties I found AnalysIR picked com58!!!!  windows 10 assigned com4
2. Changed my port to 58 THEN selected USB Toy, I got the message This feature is not in the DEmo Mode
3. I still have the "Unkown device" in the device Manager window

I am in catch 22, Do I have to buy the software before trying it out ??

Yes, I upgraded to v22 , when I connect the device I get a LED temprary ON then off

OK.

Yes the demo version of AnalysIR, is restricted.

The IR Toy comes with several utilities you can use on windows and linux which are available via the DP website.

There is also an open source application available (IrScrutinizer )

I do not mind buying the full version, especially after you stated that it is working on w10.
My only concern is why I am getting device unknown ... Did you get the same error message.??
Check your device manger

I didnt see any issue in Device Mnager, but I will check again later & let you know.

Maybe just uninstall the driver and start again by plugging it back in or let windows do its thing.

Thank you again.....The unknown device dissappeared after uninstalling then unpluging and pluging again.
I will go ahead and purchase the software.

P.S. Where do I speciify the COM port in AnalysIR ?? The software in the demo picked com 58 ??? very odd !!!

it should appear in the drop down box automatically (in the status bar)

I ordered the sw but did not get feedback..( It must be the weekend)
Once I install it, I hope things will move on....
