Title: Fixing 1st batch IRtoy from Seeed
Post by: rhyde on June 22, 2010, 05:31:14 am
I have a first back unit, which from the discussion it appears several construction issues.  It is receiving strong signals, but I would like to get the transmit functions working properly.  Is there a complete list of the changes I need to make?  And any pictures or other aids?

Hi rhyde - The major defect on the batch-1 transmitter is that the LED is backwards, just pull it out, flip it around, and solder it back. If you'd like, I will send you a new LED so you can cut the old one off, that might be easier.

The other less serious problem is that R4 is 390ohms and should be 180ohms.

I'd be happy to make both of these repairs for you too.

I am game to due the repairs, or get a friend who is better at surface mount for the resister.  Could you send me the replacement parts and I will fix it.
