Is it possible to piggy back a second pic on the v3 bus pirate and switch between them so I don't have to reload the firmware when I use it for avr flashing ?
Thanks Nikki
It wouldn't be very "pretty" but the IC legs might be long enough to reform so you can solder a second on top then do some sort of a flying lead and switch to select which PIC gets power. This is of course theory I certainly haven't tried it.
AFAIK does avrdude support the buspirate in native mode (the normal buspirate)

Yes, I was excited about this but the speed is horrific.
The dual pic idea is a decent one but you'll need to make sure the output of the unused device are floating. Might be easier to add a second identical pcb and share the ft232.

Sorry for the late reply..
I think the clamping diodes of the in/output would possibly power the second chip and that would interfere with the other. Don't think it is very reliable ;) FOr avoiding the hassle I would suggest buy another buspirate :)
Considering the cost of the pic, why not just pick up one of these?

Wow, that's cheap! Looks like these programmers can even be turned into *rduino boards. See "Project Ouroboros — Reflashing A Betemcu USBasp Programmer" (maybe, article about original USBASP, not v2.0).
They can be used as a small dev board I believe.
