Title: Bus Pirate v3.8 free PCB build
Post by: Markus Gritsch on March 04, 2014, 10:50:57 am
At last I built a Bus Pirate too.  And yay, it works fine :)

One question: Why has R5 in the schematic on this page http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Bus_Pirate_v3.6 (http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Bus_Pirate_v3.6) a value of 2k instead of like being the same as the other 10k resistors from RN3?

And thank you very much for the PCB!  Cheers,
Markus

http://dangerousprototypes.com/2009/09/ ... istor-mod/ (http://dangerousprototypes.com/2009/09/02/bus-pirate-2k-pull-up-resistor-mod/)

first google hit; short story is that it has to do with 1 wire devices, and the 10k resistor would limit current, causing issues.

Shame on me for not trying this first... Thanks for clarifying though.
