Title: Using Automation Software
Post by: liyin on June 01, 2010, 11:20:48 pm
For those folks that have interfaced the IR Toy with automation software, what software are you using?

How would you interface it with software like AutoHotkey or Girder?

I had to ditch IgorPlug-Serial as my receiver because Girder was a bloated/crappy application, and IgorPlug-Serial only works with the IgorPlugXP.dll plugin for Girder, so you are limited to using Girder. That's a problem with serial circuits, but they are very simple, and I have 2 empty serial ports that only use for PIC programmers on a breadboard.

I'll see if I can do the same with the USB circuits, but as a simple/efficient solution for PC automation, I went back to WinLIRC, this time I managed to configure my remote and was able to use it to trigger my scripts for all kinds of things. Now I have granular control with the simplest of IR circuits.
