I am in the process of designing up a case for my logic sniffer. I have designed it for use with just the standard 16 channels of input. It has captured reset and update buttons as well as labeling for both buttons and LEDs. The LEDs have an individual hole that blocks out the light from the other LEDs. I personally plan on fitting some small acrylic rod for a light pipe. This is just the first revision. I expect that there might need to be some fiddling with getting the buttons correct. I have ordered it, so it should be here in a few weeks. I also set it up so that it gets built in one go. This should reduce the charge that Shapeways has for multiple parts. Once it is proven out, I will open the design to the public on Shapeways.

It looks like the case shipped today. We shall see how it looks. This being the first time I have used Shapeways service, so I am not sure of the finished part quality that I can expect. I will show pictures, hopefully tomorrow of the new case.

Well, the part that I received from Shapeways had some issues. They did not clean the part properly before dying the part. Despite this, I was able to do a check fit and look at how well things went together. I can report that all went together very well. I made some changes based upon my observations.
On a side note, Shapeways has been pretty good to work with. I sent them pictures of the issue and they are going to replace the part with the new design. I decided against the black finish as it was very rough (almost like the part had been flocked). I am going with the polished white finish this time and we shall see if this comes out better.
