Title: OpenSolaris success, and some questions

Just a FYI, I have OLS working on OpenSolaris.

Some questions:

I see mention of different combinations of samples and channels, e.g. http://dangerousprototypes.com/2010/02/ ... nalyzer-2/ (http://dangerousprototypes.com/2010/02/25/prototype-open-logic-sniffer-logic-analyzer-2/) says:

Currently the following memory/channel configurations are available:

    * 32 channels with 4k sample depth.
    * 16 channels with 8k sample depth.
    * 8 channels with 16k sample depth.

but http://dangerousprototypes.com/forum/in ... 61#msg4661 (http://dangerousprototypes.com/forum/index.php?topic=533.msg4661#msg4661) says that irrespective of the channels you only get 4K samples, which is correct?

I've found the newer firmware, but is there an "idiot's guide to upgrading"

Is there a FAQ somewhere with all this info in?

Hi,
I changed the bitstream to the 16Channel/8K/InsideNumbering version, and it works here (Ubuntu 10.04).
So at least the 16Channel/8k version should be OK.

But I have to confess, I was also a bit confused how to actually do this, so I updated the ROM on my wifes Windows machine following the instructions given in the link you already cited http://dangerousprototypes.com/2010/02/25/prototype-open-logic-sniffer-logic-analyzer-2/ (http://http://dangerousprototypes.com/2010/02/25/prototype-open-logic-sniffer-logic-analyzer-2/)

I followed the instructions in section
"ROM update procedure"

Yes, I've updated the firmware and the FPGA following those instructions, unfortunately the OLS now doesn't work at all as neither Solaris nor Windows can see it :-(  See the following thread: http://dangerousprototypes.com/forum/in ... opic=530.0 (http://dangerousprototypes.com/forum/index.php?topic=530.0)
