This year at the Seattle and Portland Mini Maker Faires I did a presentation on getting started with designing your own PCB using KiCAD. In this presentation as an example I created a pumpkin shaped PCB with a candle like flickering LED.
It's a simple schematic with just a switch, resistor, battery holder and 10mm LED. But makes for a nice easy project to get started with trying out KiCAD. I've released the files under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license., you can find the files here:

Yeah, they flicker on there own just add power. I got them from EMS, here is the yellow one:

They also offer the flickering LED in white, I bought both but the yellow one seems more like a candle to me.
