I want to use my bus pirate as a STK500. The current bus pirate firmware is too slow to use for ISP programming cause I want to run a bunch of tests. I went to download the alternate firmware and it is marked as deprecated . What's up with that ? I did see where some patches have been submitted to increase the speed, but I didnt want to go through patching avrdude, BP firmware, compile, etc. Can I use this alternate firmware with my Bus pirate ?
Thanks
Randy Perkins

This file has been deprecated. Another file would probably be better. Do you want to continue?
note I was able to download the alternate firmware and it includes 3 pre-compiled files

Hi Randy,
Yes, it can be used with your Bus Pirate. The dedicated download is deprecated because the alternate firmware is included with all the latest firmware packages.
