I have a V5b demo board (http://http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Kung:_Bus_Pirate_demo_board) (also design overview here (http://http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Bus_Pirate_Demo_Board_v5_design_overview)) free PCB coming to me in the mail and I'm starting to figure out how I could possibly assemble it. This would be my first SMT project, so wish me luck.
Anyway, I've generated a Mouser project (http://http://www.mouser.com:80/ProjectManager/ProjectDetail.aspx?AccessID=4f4758659b) for it and I'd appreciate if anyone knowledgable could give it a quick look and tell me if I've done anything obviously stupid there. I'll happily hand edit rights to anyone who wants to fix it.
Notes:
- I know the zener/R3 pair aren't needed for PICKit3, and that the trace under R3 needs to be cut if these parts are installed.
- I pulled as many parts as possible from the master parts list (http://http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/Partlist) but not D2 (zener), IC1 (op amp) or U1 ("PIC16F1829SS"). Those might need more scrutiny than the rest.
- Speaking of D2, I picked whatever seemed cheap and plentiful between 8V and 9V since that's the safe programming range according to the PIC16F1829 PDF datasheet (http://http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/41440B.pdf) (see Vpp range, page 361).
- Although I took it from the master parts list, I have no idea if that is an appropriate resistor network for RN1 and RN2. Please advise.
Any thoughts?
Your cart looks ok, this will certainly other in finding the right parts.
RN1 and RN2 are resistor packs which are basicly 4 resistors in one package. we use these as it makes the board cheaper to manufactrue (we pay an amount per placed object). The zener is ok and not needed if you have a pickit3 or ICD3.
If you have a final cart or partlist please share, I'll add it to the wiki and update the BOM/schematic.
Are there changes I need to make or something? As far as I can tell the only thing missing from that parts list (http://http://www.mouser.com/ProjectManager/ProjectDetail.aspx?AccessID=4f4758659b) is the board. I'm not sure what else I need to do to make it useful for wiki posting. Happy to share, absolutely.
Sorry, I thought some of the zener values and resistor networks were missing. You did choose same opamp I did, but I have not yet tested the design.
I will add your updated mouser cart to the wiki.
