Title: xQFP 0.40mm?

Is it possible to use the xQFP 0.5mm board with a 0.4mm xQFP?

Not really, with 11 pins on a side (xQFP44), you are missing about 1mm wrong. With pin spacing at 0.4, you will be two pins off.
