Hey i'm having trouble getting my web platform to work.
Under the settings dsPIC33FJ, 128GP204, 115200 I am continually getting the error: Found unknown device id(193) fw ver. 9.9.9. This occurs when running the 'check for bl' command and 'download' command, so i can't modify anything on the board.
I've tried different device ids, bauds and programmers all to the same effect.
Anyone got ideas?
The bootloader on the Web Platform must be running when trying to upload. To achive this, you have to press the reset switch S1 on the Web Platform, and then, within 2.5 seconds, perform the upload using the ds30 Loader application.
Hey stevjj, sorry you're having a problem uploading new firmware.
Those settings look correct. Is it set to the correct serial port? What operating system are you using?
Are you trying to connect while the LD LED is on, immediately after pressing the reset button?
It's possible the bootloader is damaged. I probably have someone nearby who could flash it for you.
Hey Ian,
Yeah its the correct serial port. The bootloader is reacting to the reset and trying to detect it, I suspected the bootloader is broken too. Furthermore there are no LEDs visible with the usb plugged in.
Work has a bunch of PIC programmers, so i'll just borrow one of them.
The preferred way is this:
1. press download
2. reset board
Only press check for bootloader if your intention is to only check if a bootloader is present.

Are you expecting power for the board from the USB port? It needs a separate power supply. When my board is plugged into the USB port alone, none of the LEDs come on. When I plug in a 4xAA battery pack the PWR LED comes on as do the SD, LD1 and LD2 LEDs.
