Title: Bus Pirate, Flashrom, W25X40 and Intel D945GCLF
Post by: nashith on January 02, 2012, 08:14:23 am
Got myself a locked out PC a few years ago, boot restrictions done via bios.
Stumbled upon Bus pirate and Flashrom and decided to give it a go. SeaBios (edit) works great and flashing the bios with the bus pirate worked on first try. Didn't want to remove the chip from board so got myself some nice clipon probe kits from seeed.
Thanks for everyone involved in Bus pirate and Flashrom, truly awesome piece of work.

How did you program this chip in circuit without blowing the drivers on IC connected to flash on the motherboard?  In other words when the motherboard was powered up the processor or IC connected to the flash chip is going to be driving the pins on the flash, if you try and drive them with the bus pirate it will blow the drivers on the driving IC unless you found way to tri-state the chip connect to the flash?
