Sweet :) I cant wait. I have been meaning to use iTead for a while now (I really want to try my hand at making PCBs, iTead makes it so affordable, its like why etch it yourself anymore?).
I wonder what the surprise is!

No, we use the machine to do it, maybe we should show you our factory - you will see this post soon.

sweet! ill stay tuned.
@alex,
If you're any of itead's official person, then please take my suggesion.
Please add a payment gateway which is VBV or MSC secure metchant. Otherwise whenever I try to pay payment gets blocked by bank and I get SMS from bank that the transaction was declined for security reasons. My bank officials say my cards can only be used in secure merchant sites, and not those sites which are not secure and charges cards directly. This is for my account security.
FYI, if I try to use my mastercard in any secure site, after I enter card details, CVV then the payment page redirects to my bank's website where I have to enter a securecode to authorize the transaction by verifying the chargable amount to my account. This way fraud websites can't make illegal use of my card's details because they won't have my securecode.
Hence, please add a secure payment processing option.

My Itead gift came today. Pretty impressive, an Overload programmable load and USB programmer. Thanks Alex!

i think that is the one with c8051f330, very hack-able
the one from the picture is atmel based (source is written in arduino ide), I have both and the overload is waaaaaay cooler then the '51 based one :)
I'm still waiting for 2 orders from itead :( .. it contains the pcb's for soldering iron ... Alex, maybe you can speed them up :D (6954 and 6709) :D :D ... from what I seen they are already sent it's up to the post office now ... I'm just soooooooo inpatient to get them :D
btw - GREAT WORK you guy's are doing.

i have been using the Silabs 8051 for years and love them, it would be trivial(and pointless) to argue avr vs c8051f.
i have neither of there prog. loads, but would love to test either one out. maybe i can live vicariously through you:)
Congrats to ian. You got christmas gift 3 days before christmas. Too costly to be a gift, though.

Ah, don't get me wrong, I didn't say '51 is worse then avr, I said that avr based oveload is better then '51 based device. The avr based one is next generation of electronic load by itead so it support more stuff (unrelated to mcu but the the overall design of the board). I do prefer avr to '51 because I have no programmer for '51 in da house and 'cause last time I programmed anything for '51 was in 1991 so I'm bit rusty ... but '51 is (along with 68') kinda standard in embedded devices :D (even my brand new pace soldering station is based on '51)
Anyhow both electronic load devices are pretty good :) (few things I'd do differently but..)

i think i can agree on micro specs alone, the f330 only has 768b of of ram, and 8k of flash, not alot of space for more advanced firmware.
i started to draw up a programmable load using a more robust 51 from silabs, another project that might not see the light of day
you can use schematic from overload and use '51 instead of avr, it should be simple..... they have some good solutions there (I don't understand why they use a pot to set the load but that's another issue)
is the supply on overload 5volts? none of silabs processors run past 3.6v or so
I don't remember but it would not be a problem to change it
Today arrived my mystery christmas gifts from itead. Inside the envelope I found a 5% save coupon, a business card and the Itead PCB business card.
I'm not going to use my 5% coupon, so the first one to send me an email to ginpb at hotmail dot com will receive the coupon code.
Oops, just yesterday ordered my first itead order. :sigh.
Hi everyone! Finally last Tuesday arrived the mystery gift from ITeadStudio. It comes with a 5% discount coupon, 2 business cards (paper and PCB) and 5 jumpers wires. The shipping took about two months!
Wow; I got mine months and months ago. I got everything you got there except for the jumpers.
The shipping from Hong Kong usually takes one month, maybe the delay was due to Christmas and New Year. The same happened with an accelerometer that I bought on ebay.
Got my Xmas gift form ITead a couple of weeks ago, it came with a PCB test card and 20x4 blue backlit LCD (http://http://smokedprojects.blogspot.com/2013/02/february-swag-bag-itead-studio-xmas-gift.html). Which was nice!
Mine came with a PIR motion sensor. Nice surprise.
Hi guys,
I want to purchase some good corporate Christmas gifts for my co-workers and my office partners for this Christmas.
So please suggest me some good ideas on Christmas Gifts, What to buy and from where should I purchase it at an affordable price?
I'd normally suggest having a look on AliExpress.com, but you have probably left it a bit late to get anything from China before Christmas due to the usual Christmas postal delays which start around now and continue through to January next year.
