Title: Change in lcd from 8bit to 4 bit mode

hello.
a little suggestion
maybe you can change in LCD HD44780 8 bit -> 4bit mode and unused pins can be used for more in and outs (buttons relays etc.)

Advantage: You get 4 more pins (D0-D3) that can be used for other stuff.
Disadvantage: Might slow things down a bit, but you'll not be able to recognize it unless you're running some firmware with lots of interrupts + LCD writes.
