Hi all dangerous people :)
I've heard that the next bus blaster (version 3) is currently in prepartion, When will it be out? And what will be the improvements?
Thanks
One is designed, but it is far, far from production. It puts the USB header straight and opposite the JTAG header so it goes easily in a case. It also swaps two JTAG connections to make some things easier for people who want to hack it.
v4 uses a bigger CPLD and supports the VWO feature of SWD two-wire debug.
Ok, so it's not worthy to wait the version 3 to buy a bus blaster :)

I don't think so. V2 works perfectly, tested by many etc etc ... very fast ... who knows when v3 and or v4 will be ready
If you can wait 6months to a year, v3 might be a good choice. I have not even tested the PCB though, so there is no telling how long before it even goes to production. I would recommend a v2.5 (currently on sale as v2) if you need it soon :)
ian, I saw there was both a v3 and v4 in the pcb bin, I still have a coupon left, so I was wondering what would be more helpful to you as far as testers go? It sounds like the v3 is just a slight PCB spin but the v4 is a whole new design... I don't have an immediate need for one, though eventually I will be doing some ARM jtag and possibly xsvf work because we'll be doing some FPGA/CPLD work in school next year.
v4 would be the one to test, but there is not yet any guarantee that it works :) I will give you a new coupon whichever you try, maybe two if you build a new prototype that doesn't work ;)
