After I finished the SOIC version (viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2577 (http://dangerousprototypes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2577)), I continued with the SSOP one.
As before, everything recycled or free sourced, except fot the FTDI chip.

Thanks Ian!
Are you going into business? ;) Nice to see another Bus Pirate build. I'll send another code shortly.
jj, well not really into business. I use it a lot, since version v2go.
I work at different places, so it's cool to have one in each workbench.

Thanks Ian!
I meant the Bus Pirate sales business :) I do know the graphic though, it is scheduled for a post tomorrow ;)
oops. I hope I haven't spoiled the party...
Do you use a rework station to salvage the parts? I sometimes try to get some interesting parts of some old stuff, but most of the time it doesn't work.

Yes, I use this one: http://dangerousprototypes.com/2011/03/ ... k-station/ (http://dangerousprototypes.com/2011/03/11/tool-aoyue-968-3-in-1-rework-station/)
It's not expensive, around 100€. Highly recommendable.
If you want to salvage parts it's good to have a good LCR meter, I have built this to measure small caps and inductors: http://ironbark.bendigo.latrobe.edu.au/ ... ndex2.html (http://ironbark.bendigo.latrobe.edu.au/~rice/lc/index2.html)
also, this has been very handy: http://www.mikrocontroller.net/articles ... stortester (http://www.mikrocontroller.net/articles/AVR-Transistortester)
When I have some more space at home (read when I have a new house) I should get such a hot air station. At the moment space is very limited for more tools. Thank's for your handy info!
Do consider the 968, it is usually available at WilTek in Germany. (assuming wortel means you are dutch)
Yes I'm dutch.
Eleshop sells them as well:

But at the moment I'm soldering on my dining table. I use trow away wet cleaning cloths to clean up so I don't have solder for breakfast.

All DP projects are prototyped that way too ;)
