What additional components, if any, do I need to add to the FT2232 breakout board to get two (2) RS232-compatible COM ports out of it?

(Not including two DB9 connectors of course - the whole reason I'd rather a breakout board is because I wish to hardwire it to an existing piece of equipment that presently terminates with bare wires electronically equivalent to two COM port connectors)

You'd need 3.3volt RS232 transceivers with a couple capacitors like the MAX3232 or equivalent:

There are also versions with 2 transceivers in one chip package.
