Got word from Seeed this morning that these are going in the shop. I expected the Bus Blaster v2 first.
We've been working overtime (http://http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/index.php?title=Special:RecentChanges&limit=100) to get the massive CPLD wiki ready for the launch.
Maybe these will be available tomorrow. Intro price is $15/each. Goal was $10/each, but we couldn't get the price that low because the CPLDs only decrease ~10 cents at 100 quantity.
Pictures of the final boards attached. Our pictures are getting better, but at the same time easier to take :)
They seem to be almost in stock:

Mostly they will be in store the next day or so after appearing in the depot.
Can't wait to see project comming with these cute boards :)
I see the second board is using the XC2C64A (CoolRunner II) part in the -7 speed grade. The data sheet at http://www.xilinx.com/support/documenta ... /ds311.pdf (http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/data_sheets/ds311.pdf) says that for this part the maximum external frequency is Fext1 = 118 MHz (using one p-term) and Fext2 = 108 MHz (OR array).
I have been told that anything above a 50 MHz clock is a "high speed design". Can you give me an idea, does this board layout support 100+ MHz, or would I need a better layout (eg. 4-layer PCB) to support the max speed?
I think it will be difficult to do 100 or even 50MHz on a breakout board. It really depends on what you want to do though, but I would say as a general rule at minimum you need a custom PCB with short, direct traces to get those speeds. For anything fancy, you gotta go 4+ layers with internal grounds, power planes, etc.
Seeed says "sold out"
What's the real status ?
Manufactured or not ?
Available or not ?
Does someone have the real info?
Rgds
I'm surprised, usually they are in stock within hours or a day of going in the store.
I got an update yesterday, looks like they still need to be programmed and tested:
viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2031 (http://dangerousprototypes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2031)
Bus Blaster v2.0a-----Assembly done. Waiting for test.
XC9572XL-CPLD breakout 1v----- Assembly done. Waiting for test.
XC2C-CPLD breakout v1b----Assembly done. Waiting for test.
USB IR Toy v2.0------PCBs are ready, waiting for the components ready to
start assembly.
I was afraid it disappeared in couple of hours! :)
Maybe some day we are that big, but I think there will be stock for a while when they are ready :)
Yay! They're here. http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/xc2c64 ... ?cPath=174 (http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/xc2c64a-coolrunnerii-cpld-development-board-p-800.html?cPath=174)
Thanks for the heads up :) Don't forget the XC9572XL:

For one of our projects, they're both really flying off the shelves. We're going to need to order another batch already. Thanks to everyone for your support.
