I didn't think my pictures are that good. Thank you.
As I only have (two) pocket camera(s), and neither is very good, I need to use flash on all of my pictures, any amount of light I can bring to scene other ways is not enough. I don't like the flash burn in the picture, because it covers usually some traces etc. you want to see. The solution is to put white paper in the front of the flash, not too close tough. The number of layers control the light that passes through, and some of the light is reflected to roof and back, so it gives smoother flash. I saw this method in some book or so :)
I have repaired two LCDs, the first one was easy, 3-4 caps and it is working still, 2 years from the repair.
Second one was trickier, because it had external power supply, and as I don't have oscilloscope, I measured the voltage rails with multimeter. However, the multimeter is not fast enough to show the voltage drop, which prevented the screen from starting. Then I opened the power brick, and there were blown caps. Now it works again :)
(I don't know if this is the right place to ask, move if it isn't.)
Now I'm getting email from _every_ comment to some blog posts I follow and from every forum post on threads I follow. Is there a way to change this so that I could get a (one) message that there are new comment/post on [this] post/thread you follow. Then the link would get me to the oldest message I haven't read. New message would be only sent after I clicked the link, or read the post. This is used on some forums.
Thank you for the job work you are doing :) (Sorry the bad english, I'm little tired).
I was wondering, if that part search could be one plugin per distributor, so it would be easy to add local shops to the program without annoying people around the world. Also each plugin could use their own thread and get the search done faster? Just my cents.
I bought an really old (1988 or so) PSU from second hand store. It is a 13,X VDC 5A PSU for Mobira "mobile" telephone :D When I plugged it in, it only gives one volt or so, and screams with high freq. I don't even know what component it is that is screaming, some short circuit protection I guess. (My dad has similar PSU and it keeps the same noise when shoted, but it works...)
I don't know how helpful this is, but xsane does automatically increase the number in the file name... and there is also the command line interface, so it might be easy just to write bash script to do the stuff?
I also have various DP stuff: Bus Pirate, LCD adapter and IR Toy.
Then some TI stuff ordered from sales, for example Launchpads and touch interfaces to them. (I need to start working on those...) And I have cheap multimeter (I call it lottery machine, it describes the accuracy).
One 30W soldering iron, which heats the grip too hot :)
Then I have lots of tools to repair my bicycles. As a student I can't afford many hobbies and I'm just beginning electronics :)
Hi! I thought that it would be nice to see what kind of equipment people use. I got today a new soldering station and el-cheapo-dremel. If you like, please post some images/comments of your tools :)
Yes, from .fi. Never been on deicing plane though. They use(d?) some stuff made (only?) in Switzerland and year or two ago there was shortage of it, and it was nice :D
Just my $0.02: I'd like to use Li-ion/Li-poly cell to power up devices like this. The coin cell batteries here are awfully pricey. If I order them from HK, I get them cheap and most of them are bad.
http://hokkiplast.fi/murska/english.php With those you can get quickly the ice off the windows. Plastic one doesn't harm the glass. Do not use them on car body, the paint doesn't like it ;)
And what comes to driving in the snow, it is the most fun thing one can do with car, if you have suitable tires.
