I am using Windows 7 64 bit but I have tried it on my old XP 32 bit machine same result. I am using the bitstreams from OLS version 1.03 dated 16/4/2010. I have tried re flashing the firmware with the latest virsion 1.01a from the 1.03 package. I have also tried version 1.02 none will allow use in other than 32 bit mode. in 32 bit mode once connection is made the 32 bit capture works every time. It is only after reconnecting the usb does it fail sometimes. One thought is it might be the 20MHz crystal not starting cleanly but I cannot see why loading the other bitstreams should affect it unless it is to do with startup timing.
When I load any of the bitstreams which capture less than 32 bits I get communications error when I start to capture. Tried reconnecting the usb and it seems to connect ok but still get error on selecting capture. After reloading the 32 bit version it takes 2 or more usb connection attempts before it will work. I have tried different versions of bitstream with same result. It is as though there a floating input that needs to discharge. What can I do now? David
