Btw, it actually uses the same firmware, http://dangerousprototypes.com/2012/01/ ... -available As seen over there, the firmware can actually discern between normal and sandbox/eBay bus pirates. However, I'm still left wondering if the other firmwares(ex xsvf) work ok.
I know Jtag isn't the main purpose of the bus pirate, but I will do so only occasionally. However, I do need it to work, so I'd like feedback from anyone who owns it.
I am going to buy a bus pirate, and was debating between the standard one and the one offered by sandbox electronics. For those who own it, is there any particular bug or quirk I should be aware of?
For reference, some features I definitely need are avr and cpld (xsvf) programming.
Well, same question as always. I've finally decided to buy a bus pirate, so I am debating between v3 and v4. I know that v3 is still the officially recommended one, but well, v4 is newer.
Anyways, I was wondering if the v4 can program an AVR and a CPLD (via JTAG), as those are the features I see myself using soon. Are these features working in the v4, or should I go for v3.
