General discussion / RIGOL vs ATTEN oscilloscopes
Hi,
I'm going to buy a new oscilloscope for my own work (mainly hacking hardware).
I wanted to buy a RIGOL DS1052E (50MHz) that I can find on ebay at about 299 euros

But I saw at sparkfun the ATTEN 1102CML (100MHz) at almost the same price (300 euros)

Hello, I'm looking at buying an OptiVisor to got my hands completely free when working on and checking SMT soldering.

I found a lot of variants on Amazon.com for the same, but I couldn't do a choice.

General discussion / Is it legal to make PICKit2 clones?
I want to know if it's legal to make PICKit2 clones?
I know that it's not worth (relatively to the price), but what if I use PICKit2 firmware on a custom board to let user do onboard updates of firmware directly? 
is it legal to use all or parts of PICKit2 firmware/software for such purposes?
