Cool! I'll post it up, and mention it in the next BP article. You can use a Bus Pirate picture from dangerousprototypes.com if you like.

Do you like realterm? I use the debugging tool a lot, but it's not my preferred program for a terminal interface. I probably don't know how to use it well.

oh god thank you ^^
i have used it for a long time starting hen i started development on the "i robot: create" so im just used to it
im still working on the graphic interface for extremely easy to use use of the buspirate AND the logic probe and the ability to use them together in one C# app. like you have a 1 wire device talkign to another 1 wire device you put the logic probe in the middle of it let it read the protocall you can single out the command you want than go to the 1 wire buspirate paste it in one form click some check boxes ratio buttons exc and it will give a graphical image of how to connect it and you click send and it will send the necessary information to the buspirate and display the output in the console window :3 ... any thoughts on that? ... i wont need to sped more money on a buspirate 3 to keep the program up tp date with every one else ^^; (after waiting 2 months for my buuspirate2go)

no grammer ... sorry i grew up as a programmer >.<

while I'm sure you did all of the following, re-checking them might give you a clue as to if the problem is win7 related:  Did you verify settings - e.g. correct USB to Com port #? did you load the FTDI virtual Com port drivers? Verify that your term emulation software was set to COMx/115200/8/1/N/Xon-Xoff? did you try a different term emulator/different OS - e.g. try Tera Term or XP or set your term emulator to run in XP compatibility mode?  Only had a little win7 experience, so...just guessing.

woops i had arduino running and its set to the same com port ... fixed now thank you

The MODE LED lights when the bootloader (v2+) is active, or when you enter a mode with the 'm' command in the terminal.

The Bus Pirate manual has all the pinouts and command tables:

Glad you got it working. Thanks for the update. What's the first thing you're going to interface?

Try installing the Microchip APP note linked in the firmware update guide, it will install the .ocx.

Not sure if it's compatible with Windows Vista/7. If it won't work on Vista/7, you can also try using the Pyton updater.

If you get an error about a missing comdlg32.ocx when you run the quick programmer, install the sample code from Microchip application note AN1157.

thanks i finally got it to work after some minor modifications with the .ocx file :3

Bus Pirate Support / Re: LCD HD44780 adapter board preorder
will [quote author="ian"]
I can have HD44780 LCD adapter board kits made at Seeed Studio for $15 each, including worldwide shipping. I might be able to get a combined discount on this and the 3EEPROM explorer board.

If there's no interest now, I might still organize a few kits when the Bus Pirate v3 preorder starts.

will it work with http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/produc ... cts_id=710 or is it a text interface?
