I finally got around to building a few BPv4c's from the group buy we did 6 (!) months ago. I am making 3, and am encountering some problems running the self test. I was hoping someone would be able to help interpret the results to guide me in looking to see what might need to be re-soldered.
The first one reports an SDA failure, and then locks up on READ & WRITE.
The second reports: PULLUP H FAIL Bus Hi-Z 1: MOSI FAIL CLK FAIL MISO FAIL CS FAIL
The third reports the same as the second, plus also Vusb(0.00) FAIL.
Can anyone set me in the right direction? I couldn't find a guide for investigating failed test results. My next (and last) resort is looking at the source to try and see what the self-test is doing.
Did you manage to post out my order schazamp? Sorry if I missed any PM's from you, I only created an account last week to message you and order, but didnt realise that if I failed to post within 24 hours then my account would be removed by the spam filters. So I have had to re-create my account.
Thanks
Yes, I believe I did, last Wednesday (Jan 29). A number of folks have been caught by that forum rule, I guess it's easy to overlook when you sign up.
If you haven't received them in a week or two, let me know, and I'll send more.
Because of the ongoing trickle of interest, I posted the remaining PCBs as items in the Space Age Robotics store ( http://spaceagerobotics.com/blog/store/ ... ort=normal ). The store supports PayPal and Google Checkout, and will help me track orders through shipping.
If you are interested in getting one of the remaining PCBs, please place an order there, it will track quantity until they are gone. The price remains the same $5 each, free shipping.
I still have a bunch of these left if anyone else is interested. There were a few folks who reserved boards and then decided not to get them after all.
The red boards have finally arrived, and I've cut them apart. Here are some crummy phone pics:
I still have some extras available, and like I said before, I'll make them available to anyone who was a part of the original order for $2/each to cover shipping. Anyone else can have them for $5/each. Please paypal sales@spaceagerobotics.com.
If you've already told me you wanted red ones, I've PMed you about that.
I have some green ones too, if for some reason you prefer those.
Any that I have left at the end will probably go to Ian for the PCB drawer (if he'll have them), since there's no way I need 20 bus pirates, as awesome as they are.
I'll post again if I am close to running out.
Thanks to everyone who was a part of this order, and thanks especially to those who posted pics.
I just wrapped it up with Seeed -- they're going to redo the order in red. Since I'll have another pile of boards in a month, I'll offer to send red ones to anyone who was part of the original order for $2 each, to cover shipping. And since ill probably still have extras, for $5 each to anyone else, and any that remain will eventually make it to the pcb drawer, if Ian will have them.
If you said you wanted to hold out for red, then I've already got you. Otherwise, please PM. I wont accept payment until I have the boards in hand; I've already learned my lesson about that.
And thanks for the pic, dolabra, I'm glad it arrived okay.
I had 8 of these awesome envelopes left from 1996. So the first 8 lucky, lucky folks will have their PCBs delivered in style. The rest will just be delivered.
Yeah, systemstech put it on at my request. I didn't see anything from Seeed, but it's hard to check after I've cut all the boards, I'd have to look at 3/4 + 1 of them to confirm.
Here are the separated boards, and also a special commemorative plaque, which will go to some randomly selected lucky recipients.
I'm still waiting to here from Seeed (though I guess I do have a ticket open now).
If green is okay, please PM me to confirm, and please include your address, to make it easier to keep track of. I'll put them in the post on Monday. Please *don't* put this info in the thread, it's too hard to keep track of that way.
I'll send out an additional reminder by PM for those who did not ever actually post to this thread (and who therefore won't get the 'thread updated' email).
Thanks for sticking with me through all of this, what a learning experience it has been.
After trying to get the straight story out of my mail carrier several days in a row, I gave up today and tracked down the package, and went to the post office where they were holding it.
To my dismay, upon opening the package, I found that the boards were green instead of the red that we I ordered (and paid extra for). One mess on top of another. I am contacting Seeed to see what they are willing to do about it. Maybe they will offer to re-do the order in red, but I don't assume want to assume that anyone would rather wait another month, just to get a red board. Maybe they will offer some kind of refund.
While I wait to hear from them, I will cut up the green boards I have and prepare to ship them. They should be able to go out by early next week. I will PM anyone whose address I still need.
I will more post when I hear from Seeed. I can probably offer a couple bucks refund to anyone who is heartbroken about receiving a green board (or anyone who chipped in some extra to cover the extra cost).
