new trans showed up yesterday hopefully ill have some time this week to compare the 2 types of trannys. these are triad toroidal ones vs triad laminate both same brand both from their higher end lines not the super cheap line they have.

man id love some of those mini boards if they end up getting the issues ironed out with them. id replace my setups i made with the ksger boards with custom firmware on them with the mini unisolder units. also ordered new transformers they are backordered till mis march but when i get them i will put both on the scope and see how the EI compares to the toroidal ones seeing as i have pretty nice EI ones and i ordered a pretty nice toroidal as well.

do you mean the current EI trans? ill be back in the office this weekend and put it together with it to run some tests. i have to flash the new firmware first though in order for it to work right?

will a dual output one work okay for this i would have to wire it in parallel to get 24v 6.33amps i cant find much else here in the usa to work on 110-120v nothing single in single out i can locate except EI ones. i wish i didnt waste money on those now. sucks.

bummer bought these new and they were 80$ for the pair with shipping.  will start looking for some others. i like to build things once and not mess with them unless i have to. ill try them out but i do want to be able to use 245 and 210 etc

this is the one i bought based on the recc. so will it not work well? ill have to try finding something else i guess if so.

i was looking for more of the toroidal style, for the case im looking at using but yeah i saw that one ill prob have to go that way since i cant find anything in a toroidal one so far with those specs in stock..... well within reason price wise

ive found a few transformers available (many are out of stock or no longer available) but i have a couple questions. first is there a real need for a 12/24v dual trans, does the 24v only limit what handles can be used? and second the closest thing i have found is just over 6.37 amps 24v and 3.7 at 12v, will this be to much or does it have to stay 6amps or under. i found someone who would make them for me but i dont need to order that many of them for just a couple kits. appreciate any help
