Project logs / Re: Really universal soldering controller
Maybe this help someone:the oled(many sizes or different drivers) can be tested with an arduino,I have done that using olikraus`s u8g2 library
The connection is in the image and you have to choose the right pinout in the sketch conform to your driver and connection.
The graphic test can be found in: file/examples/u8g2/full_buffer/graphics test

Thanks to Morpheus I was able to spot the MCU and yesterday I repaired the Unisolder(trouble described at pg.377).As sparky said that he experienced the same thing long ago,it was only the MCU fried!!!And the 2675 of course and the 2.42 screen...Long story short,I am so happy! In the meantime I bought another station an original compact JBC,not new but in good condition and works very well.I haven't replaced the 2.42 screen yet as you can see I use for the moment the 0.96 directly on the front board(front panel has an opening for the 2.42 wich was installed with wires). The case is from an Toolcraft ZD-8916 station bought from ebay with 30 euros in non-working condition, wich I also repaired it-it was only the final mosfet fried.A toroidal transformer fits well right in the center, the opening in the front panel has 2.42 and the buttons, power switch,AC plug... can be used also. The stand is from Ali,from AIXUN JBC clone with 35 euros.
Well,If you ask me,the Unisolder worth every penny as it performs exactly as the original if not better. For me,it is better in many ways,we have schematics, firmware and works with many handles it is far more configurable. If the JBC MCU breaks and your 2 years warranty are gone you will have to buy another station or build the Unisolder to replace it.Now,of course, building this project may not be the case for everyone because this is not a beginner project, this is advanced microsoldering and for troubleshooting some electronic knowledge and special tools are needed. As a side note,Do not compare Unisolder with cheap chinese JBC clone because if you read these 400 pages you will find out that this is serious business!
Thank once again mr. SPARKY!

@sparkybgThank you very much for your answer!
I hope MCU got shorted earlier taking that line down quickly, acting like a protection. If not,I have some spare ICs,except MCU,U16&U8...
@minkok Thank you very much for your answer!Yes a zener and a fuse would have saved my ass!!!I will add that for sure!
A nice day to all!

Woow, great find Morpheus :o !Thanks a lot! I was not expecting to find there the microcontroller.Already ordered some. They have also the opamps,MCP4716 dac...
What do you think guys,if 36V went on 3.3V line as I believe it happened,do you think all ICs got fried?I am sure it happened to anyone before.Desoldered Pic and short is gone.Anyway,I am ready to change all if needed,I want my soldering Iron back;its so frustrating that I must work on Unisolder with another Iron... >:(
Waiting for MCU and start from there...
Wish you all a Good Day!

Project logs / Re: Really universal soldering controller
Hello to everybody!
Because is my first post here:Thanks sparky for this superTool!
Sadly My Unisolder is broken  :'( .The Cause is the chinese diy 2.42 inch screen that got shorted and burned my LM2675.But this is not the only trouble...I have disconnected the screen and powered the front board from power supply with 3.3v limited to 500mA(without any handle of course). Unfortunately its not the screen only,my PIC is getting immediately warm and the 500mA limit is reached immediately so Pic shorted...I suspect the LM 2675 got shorted in-out(36v on output...)which is a disaster. What else died I  haven't investigated yet.Problem is I cannot find another Pic(except China...)Does anyone have a spare Pic for sale preferably in Europe?(I am located in Germany). For the moment I´ve replaced LM 2675 and on backboard everything seems fine(+3.3v/-0.6v).I will de-solder Pic and see if short is gone.Hope someone has one left somewhere...
Thank you all!
