Hi friends I have a BP v3.6 buying from seed studio, I update 6.2 beta but I am no get back old firmware using "$" bootloader mode, command not triger the bootloader mode (green led not turn on, ds30 loader give the error). Manual trigering work good. Thanks, best regards.
I noticed the exact same thing. I am able to get the bootloader mode using the "$" in coolterm for Mac when I was in firmware version 4x and I updated to 6.2 Beta 1 a few days ago no problems. I can no longer get into that mode (Mode green LED), I have to jumper PGC and PGD. Did the latest firmware break the other method to get into bootloader mode? By the way there was a slight fix to some clerical error in the source code for SPI .
I don't see a compiled version though in Google? Last compiled version is 2102 v6.2 beta 1? Can someone post an updated compiled version with this source code clerical error fix MISO to MOSI.
I see a compiled version was attached in this thread but what version will it display v6.3 beta1 for example? File "spi_fix.hex"
How is this version working with BP v4 hardware? I was going to order one from Seeed but read about some bugs updating the firmware. Does this version update easily on V4 hardware or is it the same issue someone already reported on I believe BP firmware v6.1 which caused them to have to repeat or reset many times to finally get it to update the firmware.
I want to be able to read/flash SoIC8 from modern ASus laptop Bios chip W25Q64BV.
I have the BP v3 don't remember which minor version it is? V3.2 or v3.6 for example? Will the Bus Pirate version 3x be able to read/write with flashrom on these newer UEFI bios chips or would I need v4 for that?
What I would like to know is if the N7 was hard bricked, no fastboot bootloader, but still power up on N7 could you still connect the Bus Pirate and possibly fix the bootloader this way?
I have read on the XDA N7 forums at least 3 people corrupted their bootloader and they tried to restore with nvflash in apx mode and were unable to either partition nor flash the recovery.img.
The BUs Pirate method in and of itself would be enough for people to find a more economical way of fixing their N7 , rather than sending it out for out of warranty and out of pocket costs.
I was told by the company I would need to purchase both the V2DIP2 and VNC2 hardware? Could I not get away with just the V2DIP2 and Bus Pirate?
Any other host controller suggestions please comment.
My friends USB flash drive will power up but will not mount. I want to see if I can save his DATA using a host controller board for connectivity and the Bus Pirate.
I suppose I could open it up and make connections directly to the Bus pirate that way but if so How? I would have to power the USB flash drive somehow and tap into the Rx and Tx connectors?
WHat are the main differences between the Bus Pirate and TUMPA {TIAO USB Multi-Protocol Adapter (JTAG, SPI, I2C, Serial)}
Thanks
EDITED SEVERAL HOURS LATER:
I have the Bus Pirate and just read it will do UHART and that will allow me to communicate RS232/TTL Rx/Tx.
Now my other question is, would anyone know what commands I need to know for a Toshiba Laptop Hard drive? The link above works for Seagate but not toshiba. CTRL +z does not give the F3 T> prompt.
I am still google searching and have not come up with anything as of yet!!
I purchased this board a couple weeks ago and just realized there is no header soldered to the ICSP. Is this normal? How can I get the header so I can solder it in?
