I recently migrated to windows 7 after being used my OLS on Vista for quite some time. Now i m facing some issues with the lates Jawis client ols-0.9.6.1-full. I had a couple of problems after migrating to windows 7. 1. The OLS detection issue; as the CDC driver was not getting installed . I dowloaded the latest package from http://www.gadgetfactory.net/logicsniff ... r.Download and installed the driver. this resolved my first issue.
2. Secondly, the jawis client 0.9.4 works fine, however when i try to 'run' the 0.9.6.1 client the dos window pops up and vanishes instantly. The client doesnt seem to openup. The same worked fine on my Vista earlier. Is there any known issue with this version of the client on Windows 7 ? or am i missing something.
I've been using the OLS for quite sometime now, i observe that the OLS becomes too hot after sometime. Is this normal or my hardware has some issues. Note that the OLS is still functional.
I was just wondering if i can use the OLS for analysing the 1-wire protocol (as i dont hv bus pirate), i see a menu option in the OLS client s/w. Any manual or docs on how to use as a protocol analyser.
I would like to know if the logic sniffer suits for my requirement before i place an order. I need to probe 16-bit data of (48Mhz) and some of the control lines like, R/W, data strobe and address using this sniffer. Is this the right tool for this purpose. Would like your expert comments on this.
