DirtyPCBs support / pcb/carbon buttons, looking for sugestions
background:
bought a cheap n64 usb controller, doesn't really do the business.
has an analog stick, doesnt report analog values
dpad and analog stick are tied together in software (???)
the easy path is go buy another one. but as an experiment i thought i would design a new board with a atmega32u4. as you can see from the attachment, the button contacts have a carbon coating. does anyone have any experience and could indicate if i could get away with just a hasl finish, and perhaps a denser set of fingers?
i can always just try it and see but thought i might reach out for tips first.

DirtyPCBs support / board render issue (informational post only)
this is more to document something than to complain, ive usually had great luck with the renderer.
it just so happened to show up with an outline layer that was offset from the rest of the layers.
i double checked with gerbv and everything looks fine.
so on a day when someone is looking at the renderer looking for a test case i thought i would volunteer one.

DirtyPCBs support / Issues with copper pour?
So when the call went out to try the new site, i did. obviously some technical issues happened but i did eventually get the boards. I had also ordered a backup from the old site as well. the order from the old site arrived first and life went on. the new site boards sat unopened on my desk until today.
upon inspection i noticed a strange defect that wasnt present on the boards from the old site:
[attachment=4]
that should have been an unbroken analog ground plane that for some reason...is broken.
i went back to my gerbers to check (viewed in gerbv)
[attachment=3]
no break....
the fun didnt stop there, i found several instances of odd pour behavior:
[attachment=2]
and no trace of it in the gerber:
[attachment=1]
just to be sure i scratched away the solder mask and sure enough:
[attachment=0]
there are strips of no copper.
any thoughts on this?

DirtyPCBs support / Different Rush methods between old site and new site
just put in an order on the new site. looks like everything went well. :)
i was wondering though, on the new site there is a speedy new shipping method (DHL next day) but under 'processing' there is no longer multiple options (normal 6-8, rush 2-3, emergency 1-2). are those options gone forever or do they just need to be phased in? Is there a time frame (days, weeks, months, go away human and let us get to it in our own time) ?
thanks
