DirtyPCBs support / Re: shipping option not displaying correctly on invoice
As a quick update, I've resolved the issue with a support ticket, but a change had to be made by the support team "in the backend" , I've ordered many times without issue I can only think of minor things that may have effected the order process:

Size was custom, normally I do 100x100.
I grabbed a dirty cable bundle.

The symptom was:
Original selection: dhl Hong kong
Original invoice showed Hong Kong post.

Did upgrade shipping option: dhl china
(dhl HK was no longer an option)
New invoice still showed Hong Kong post.

Prices were reflected correctly, both times.

Hope that helps.

Thanks again for all the help and all the dirty boards.

DirtyPCBs support / shipping option not displaying correctly on invoice
Not sure if this is a bug or my fault but on my latest invoice it lists the price of hong kong  DHL shipping (2-5 days), but is described as PostNL Registered Airmail (1-8 weeks). i panicked and upgrades shipping to china HDL just in case, but the invoice still shows up as hong kong post (1-8 weeks).  Any thoughts on how the invoice gets generated?

DirtyPCBs support / Re: pcb/carbon buttons, looking for sugestions
that's just about the same conclusion i've come too as well.

its also been suggested that various products (search the internet for "rubber keypad repair kit") are designed to put new carbon on traces.

im looking into fabbing a board with a few test contacts, enig, then manually tin one, and observe the voltage divider effect over time. then ill know.

the overall project took a bit of a dive when i measured the width of the board at 130mm. it would be a tad more expensive than i want.

DirtyPCBs support / pcb/carbon buttons, looking for sugestions
I'm looking to see if anyone around here has some experience with pcb carbon buttons.

background:
bought a cheap n64 usb controller, doesn't really do the business.
has an analog stick, doesnt report analog values
dpad and analog stick are tied together in software (???)

the easy path is go buy another one. but as an experiment i thought i would design a new board with a atmega32u4. as you can see from the attachment, the button contacts have a carbon coating. does anyone have any experience and could indicate if i could get away with just a hasl finish, and perhaps a denser set of fingers?

i can always just try it and see but thought i might reach out for tips first.

DirtyPCBs support / Layer Report, Neat feature
Just put in an order and noticed a new feature: "layer report". super cool for peace of mind!

the size check is always welcome to make sure id didn't do anything dumb.

Thanks

DirtyPCBs support / board render issue (informational post only)
pcb render images are experimental, pay no attention to them.

this is more to document something than to complain, ive usually had great luck with the renderer.
it just so happened to show up with an outline layer that was offset from the rest of the layers.
i double checked with gerbv and everything looks fine.

so on a day when someone is looking at the renderer looking for a test case i thought i would volunteer one.

DirtyPCBs support / Issues with copper pour?
id like to preface this with, these boards were extras to begin with, and are not going to be used anyway; nothing needs to be done. i just want to know WHY it happened so i dont let it happen when id does matter.

So when the call went out to try the new site, i did. obviously some technical issues happened but i did eventually get the boards. I had also ordered a backup from the old site as well. the order from the old site arrived first and life went on. the new site boards sat unopened on my desk until today.

upon inspection i noticed a strange defect that wasnt present on the boards from the old site:
[attachment=4]
that should have been an unbroken analog ground plane that for some reason...is broken.
i went back to my gerbers to check (viewed in gerbv)
[attachment=3]
no break....

the fun didnt stop there, i found several instances of odd pour behavior:
[attachment=2]
and no trace of it in the gerber:
[attachment=1]

just to be sure i scratched away the solder mask and sure enough:
[attachment=0]
there are strips of no copper.

any thoughts on this?

DirtyPCBs support / Different Rush methods between old site and new site
hello,

just put in an order on the new site. looks like everything went well. :)

i was wondering though, on the new site there is a speedy new shipping method (DHL next day) but under 'processing' there is no longer multiple options (normal 6-8, rush 2-3, emergency 1-2). are those options gone forever or do they just need to be phased in? Is there a time frame (days, weeks, months, go away human and let us get to it in our own time) ?

thanks
