I have a v3.6 Bus pirate which I was trying to upgrade the firmware on (this one has never been used) and when I attempt to communicate with it I get no response.
When I jumper the PGC and PGD, as the instructions show, and disconnecting and reconnecting the mode light still will not light up (the only light on is the power light and it is red).
Is there anything I can do to try and recover this board or is it just toast?
I am completely new to the world of PCB design and am attempting to lay out my first PCB based upon a schematic from someone else's project. For this attempt (my first) I am using the program Fritzing and seem to be doing ok at it; however, I was wondering if I could get some recommendations, from people with much more experience than I, and a more universal and just as simple PCB design software (I would like the ability to add OPL's from other vendors which I can not seem to do with the fritzing program).
One last thing, since I am so new at this I would be looking for a program that does not have a large learning curve (PCB design is not a major part of my daily work).
