To connect to a 1-wire device, you should connect the following: 1-Wire device GND to Bus Pirate GND 1-Wire device Data to Bus Pirate MOSI Bus Pirate Vpu to Bus Pirate 5V *** This probably is missing.
(This assumes that the 1-Wire device allows a pullup to 5V).
You can type v to get a voltage report to make sure the desired voltage is present on Vpu.
Oops, forgot one of the questions:
... Also I couldnt really understand on how can i use all 32 channels, as the connector can hook up only upto 16 channels (from the pic)..
Simply hook up 16 channels to the pins already present on the logic sniffer and the other 16 channels to the pins provided by the input buffer wing.
It looks like the best way to connect the input buffer wing to the logic sniffer is to solder female headers on the logic sniffer and male headers on the input buffer wing. That way, you can plug the input buffer wing into the logic sniffer when you need it without attaching it permanently.
Here is an example bill of materials for connecting the input buffer wing to the logic sniffer (search http://http://www.mouser.com for the part numbers): 929974-01-16-RK (quantity 1: 16-pin female header: solder to top of logic sniffer) 929974-01-04-RK (quantity 2: 4-pin female header: solder to top of logic sniffer) 4-644456-6 (quantity 1: 16-pin male header: solder to bottom of input buffer wing) 3-644456-4 (quantity 2: 4-pin male header: solder to bottom of input buffer wing)
I am assuming that the wing pins have 2.54 mm pitch. Please confirm these part numbers for yourself; I simply found them at Mouser and didn't actually try them. :-)
Thanks for the quick response. I think usually all TTLs are 3.3 v , correct me if am wrong. so this should not be a problem for me. What are the other accessories i need if i would want to use all the 32 channels. BTW what is the maximum speed i can capture?
I use make in the command line, so no fancy IDEs for me. :-)
That said, I haven't tried using OpenOCD with GDB. I'm waiting for my Bus Blaster v2 to arrive. Debugging with blinking LEDs is kind of a pain. At least now I have the UART working, so I can debug with serial text.
