Got free samples from Microchip -- beer for them. Shipping to Iceland was paid, (7$) took a week or two. Now I replaced PIC on the BusPirate and I'm facing chicken-egg problem. :D I have no PIC programmer, maybe someone has some ideas on how to get the bootloader on my BP ?
I have a PIC18F2550 board with bootloader I could use.
Sorry for the dead-awakening. Either I'm not doing something right, or the code is broken. I loaded everything up in the AVR Studio, had some errors - I think I managed to fix them, compiled, burned hex, and something is still not working. Is there a pre-compiled hex somewhere?
Hello everyone! I own a Buspirate v3.5 for a quite long time now, and it has not betrayed me in any way. Im super happy to have it, and it has paid back itself many times. Everything from simple avr programming up to laptop BIOS programming, and so on.
For past few days I have been fiddling with MagSafe, and reading 1wire data from the adapter, programming some attiny´s and so. everything was working fine, till last. I was connecting BP to magsafe to read the ID, and noticed some tiny spark jumping over GND pin as I connected it to the adapter´s gnd. I have seen this happen many times before, but it hasn´t caused any trouble. I suppose there is some static going on.
So the question and the problem is? After this - I couldn´t use my BP anymore. It connects as COM port, so FTD chip is fine, but PIC gets hot. Is it possible that I killed it? anyway - I sampled some chips from MicroChip, and I will replace them as soon as I get them, reprogram it and hope to be up and running. I feel helpless with my BP. !! :D
also - setup was - BP connected to my pc, and magsafe (bare wire from laptop connector til brick) connected to lab PSU. both grounded to the same outlet. How did this happen ? and no - I did not accidentaly connect something wrong.
