Hmm, looks like BP is the thing I've been searching for.
Loads of thanks bearing with me. :-)

Now I have to decide which version. 3 or 4 and where to order...
I know the OpenOCD use still have some problems, but then...
Maybe I could even be of some help in the development...

A lot, but I didn't find about:

Where does the power come from? Is a separate power supply needed, or maybe the USB-connector or...?
Is Vpu-pin supposed to be (normally) connected to target's Vref?

I don't have a Bus Pirate, but I've been planning to get one. I'd like to know what else I need and how to use it. I was thinking about OpenOCD. But if I get a board with 5V, do I burn Bus  Pirate? Or with a board with less than 3.3V does Bus Pirate burn the board?

I just want to be sure I can find all that is needed.
If I need a power with 11,27V and 5A (or something equally weird) I guess I must look for alternatives, because I don't know if I'll ever find such power. ;-)

The problem is: I'm a SW guy with some understanding about HW, not the vice versa.

Is there any picture or explanation about how to connect the Bus Pirate?

Where does the power come from - esp. v4 if it can power small targets?
And what kind of power is required?

Is Vpu-pin supposed to be connected to target's Vref?
Is there a user manual for noobs somewhere?

BTW, what is that pull-up supply voltage?
Is it (roughly) the jtag signal voltage?
Is it (usually) taken from the target (reference voltage?) in case of "external"?
