Open Bench Logic Sniffer / Re: "Device not found" error after upgrade
hi,

both actions are done under firmware 2.12. If I should do it again under v0.2 or so just say it :).

thanks a lot
Nils

[edit] ah - and it still doesn't work after the reprogramming :), so the erase at least didn't fix the problem.

Mh, I've just tried the OpenBench_LogicSniffer_1.02.zip package from the svn. This package works. But it's horribly old ;) (Firmware v0.1)

Firmware v0.2 also works (thats the version I had when I bought it).

v0.4-16MHz doesn't work.
v0.5-16MHz/v0.5-20MHz doesn't work.

v0.6, v2.0, v2.1 are already tested and they don't work.

There's a jump of the COM port number at v0.4. It jumps from COM17 ( <= v0.2) to COM18 ( >= v0.4) and from this point on it doesn't work anymore...

Maybe this helps?

[edit] All tested with the bitstream v2.0 which was in thezip package.

The commandline for upgrading is:
pump-loader.exe -p:COM18 -wH:2.12Logic_Sniffer_dynamic_depth.mcs -write

The output of "pump-loader.exe -p:COM18 -rH:Logic_Sniffer_dynamic_depth_read.mcs -read" is appended.

One thing I noticed: The read files size is 1486 Kb while the input files is only 455Kb...

Thanks for your effort :)

Hi,

not working :(

All using bitstream 2.12.

I tried the firmwares 0.6, 2.0 and 2.1. In the client is none of t working.
Also in hercules I get absolutely nothing in the output field. It only says "Serial port COM18 opened". On all firmware versions.

Nils

[edit] I don't know if it is important: The 0.6 firmware file is named "xx20MHZxx". The crystal on my board say 16 MHz...

Open Bench Logic Sniffer / "Device not found" error after upgrade
Hi folks,

first, the ols is a nice small tool :)

Well, it was, before I updated it ;)

I got it two days ago and used it already successfully. Today I thought I should run an update of the firmware and first checked for the version: v0.2 :D.
So I ran the firmware update for firmware 2.1 and pushed the 2.12 bitstream. It all worked fine, the trig LED goes on after the ACT LED finishes flashing, I can update the firmware and push other bitstreams.

The only thing not working: Connecting to the device in the client application - I tried both, the SUMP and the SUMP fork, I tried all speed configurations an sample depths but I cant get it to work.

When I click on "capture" it just says "device not found". The selected COM port is the correct one. In the stdout it says:
Attaching to: /dev/ttyS9 (115200bps)
Run started
Device ID: 0x0
Run aborted
java.io.IOException: Device not found.

All is tested under Windows 7 x86_64 and Ubuntu Linux x86_64.

The ols-loader self test returns no errors and PUMP loader says:
Opening serial port '/dev/ttyS9' @ 921600 ... OK
Found PUMP HW: 1, FW: 2.1, Boot: 1
Found flash: ATMEL AT45DB041D

As I said, before the update it all worked fine.

Any hints on this? I would like to proceed analyzing a pcb this evening :)

Thanks
Nils

[Edit] Ah, before I forget it: I also raised the RXTX timeout from 100ms to all up to 1000ms. No effect.
