USB Infrared Toy / Troubles upgrading firmware to v22
Hi,
I tried updating my v2 IR Toy to firmware v22 but have a problem. I was previously able to see the device as a com port, but after shorting PGC and PGD together, I can't do anything else. I'm not able to flash it as the device is not recognized (no com port) and it appears to be stuck in the bootloader (LED is always on).  I can't figure out how to reset it. (flashing my v1 IR Toy was easy!)

Any suggestions on what I can do?

Thanks,
Doug

USB Infrared Toy / Transmit works a couple times thens stops functioning
Hi,
I'm having issues with transmitting from IR Toy v1.  I use EventGhost (0.3.7 r1494), WinLIRC (0.8.7a), and the LIRC plugin for EventGhost (0.7.5).  I use these to change inputs on a projector and receiver to either use a set top box, use a media centre, or use a game console.

IR Toy receives without trouble. It can also temporarily transmit allowing me to change inputs a couple of times. But it stops transmitting after just a couple of transmits.  I've used a digital camera to verify no transmits are occurring.  EventGhost is receiving the request to change inputs and initiating the transmit action, but nothing seems to happen after that. I'm not sure what else I should be trying (is it the LIRC plugin in EG? is it WinLIRC? is it IR Toy?) Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Doug

USB Infrared Toy / Can't get IR Toy to work
Hi,
I'm having trouble getting my new IR Toy to work. Installation was easy. When I press a button on a remote control, I see an orange light on the IR Toy flicker. However, that is all I can do. I've configured WinLIRC and the IR Toy plugin to the correct COM port (8 in my case) but WinLIRC doesn't seem to be receiving anything.

I found a link to a self test in a different post, downloaded it, and got this when I ran it:
Hold the IR Toy very close to something white for the self-test
Opening IR Toy on COM8 at 115200bps...
 Starting IR TOY self-test...
 Getting self-test result...
Error: IR Toy doesn't have a reply for version command
 Test no: 1 of 1
IR Toy Self Test Reply: FAI2
 FAI2

 ERROR: test FAILED! :(

 FAI2 - FAI2 - IR LED error

Does this mean my IR Toy is defective?

Thanks,
Doug
