Open Bench Logic Sniffer / OLS Download at Gadget Factory - Not Up to Date
Warning, at my post time, the version of Jawi's OLS Client included with the drivers on the Gadget Factory site is out of date (at least with the GF Windows Expert archive release V.3.0.8). The GF archive includes OLS Client V.0.9.4 vs. the current V.0.9.6.1 (a.k.a V.0.9.6 SP1).

I installed only the drivers from Gadget Factory and then got the latest version of Jawi's OLS Client directly from Jawi's site at:

http://http://www.lxtreme.nl/ols/

The link to Jawi's site is not included on the GF page. I had to find it by digging around here at DP.

The same problem is likely the case for Gadget Factory's bundled version of the Java Runtime Edition (JRE). So rather than trust GF, I get the latest JRE directly from Java.com.

It might benefit new OLS users if GF either 1. kept the contents of their release archives up to date or 2. (better IMO) just provide external links where the user can directly download the latest OLS Client and JRE. Just providing the links is best for all in my opinion. The drivers seem mature compared to the evolving OLS Client from Jawi and JRE is updated very often these days (sometimes daily or weekly). It seems like a wasted effort for GF to keep up with the OLS client and JRE all the time.

A link to the official Java test page might be appropriate as well. Here the user can test their JRE to see if it is up to date and if-not link to the official page to download the JRE update. (There are many Java test sites out there that are malicious and even try to get you to install a poisoned copy of JRE):

Maybe someone will reflect this issue to GF. I don't want to sign up for an account and manage yet another password just for this issue.
