Thanks for the reply. I am still in two minds due to the few extras the v4 will offer such as EEPROM. May just ask my friend if I can borrow the v3 I have given him.

When will the Bus Pirate be switching over to the v4c layout?

I am thinking about getting a BP v4 to mess with a serial interface on my router. As the board is still being worked on, would you suggest I go for the BP v3 (I had one of these, however gave it away to a friend as a gift) or would a v4 still work for this?

Bus Blaster JTAG debugger / Bus Blaster vs Bus pirate
Which one would be better option? I am looking for a jtag interface for playing around with a few things, bricked routers mostly ?

Any con's and pro's  comparisons would be great.
