Project logs / Re: Really universal soldering controller
How did you glue it there without a distinct glue blobs under the glass? How is it holds there?

I've found that a photo print on acrylic is a thing. The price is high but the glass would be clear in the unshaded areas and it also allows to add marks and labels.

It is not yet glued, need to paint the background. I wanted to cover the edge area of 2-3mm on the acrylic glass with double-sided adhesive tape in 0,1mm thickness. I think that would be the best option considering the visual aspect an that i can change easily.

My Unisolder is almost ready and i would like to show you. Design is inspired and adapted from this post.
The area where the acrylic glass (also have it in lighter shade) sits on need to be painted or anodizing black. Because of cost i prefer to paint it by myself.

I have problems with calibration. Calibration with 0.96" display the R value scatters by 2 units and i think this is fine, but with the 2.42" display its near by 20! As i mentioned a while ago i have a buzzing noise with the 2.42" display from the back pcb of my unisolder (5.2C from Tindie), so it probably has something to do with it?

At least sleep board by DinikS works great so far on my Tindie board. Next i'll try out the updated board by minkok.

Back board of OLED or back board (where the rectifiers, power mosfets and so on) of Unisolder?

I never had a noise from Unisolder's back board, so if it is there, I cannot tell what it is. You may try to replace the switcher ot it's inductors.

From the back board of the Unisolder. I do not know if this has a negative impact on the durability or is just a blemish? Maybe I don't hear it when it's in the case or maybe it's quieter then.

1. What do you mean by "power board"? Which board this is? If it is tha back boasrd of the OLED, it has nothing toi do tith the unisolder boards.
2. Try adjusting brightness a little. For example from 15 to 12. The difference from 10 to 15 is small, but may make the power supply of the OLED to stop making the noise.

Sorry, i mean back board. Adjusting the brightness to 12 have no audible effect for me. Changing it down to 3 the noise becomes quieter and quieter. But on 1 I still can hear it when I get close to the back board with my ear. The latest firmware is now on it.

If it's the C revision board it is very unlikely that it's a firmware issue, because the improved firmware preceded the C revision board. But it does not hurt to check. If you are using the latest firmware I am unsure what the issue might be unfortunately. I have had no issues after the firmware was updated. What is the specific display you are using? with what controller chip does it use?

This is the display i use.

I have problems with the 2.42" OLED display. When pressing the buttons to set the temperature (iron isn't connected), the power board makes noise as long as the set temperature is shown on the display. The user afedorov had already mentioned a possible solution in this post. Unfortunately, no user has commented on whether this worked. Can anyone confirm this solution as successful or are there other suggestions? Would be very grateful for any help.
