Try to erase it with ICD or ICE Yes all instructions are here, you need to find and follow them. 1)flash bootloader with pickit3 2)flash firmware with pickit3 - WRONG - program it with sparky's application through USB
Thanks for the help Minkok, That seems to have flashed correctly, though I think I have a mistake in my display. I'll have to fix that before I check to see if the firmware is functional.
First of all, thank you for the cool project and the helpful comments that are everywhere in this thread. I decide to assemble this project as a side thing since I wanted a new soldering station, might as well make my own.
I finished assembling everything a while ago, had the right voltage as well. So I tried to flash the bootloader. Everything goes well but I get nothing on the display so I try to erase and reflash it, only to be surprised. Write protection is on and I can't do anything with the PIC32. Cannot re-read it, cannot erase it, nothing. So while I am waiting for a replacement PIC32, I come/post to the thread hoping to find what I did wrong.
I have seen a few different instruction on how to flash from different source/comments. Is there a definitive instruction somewhere? hopefully with the correct hash of the github file as well. I have 1)flash bootloader with pickit3 2)flash firmware with pickit3
Are these still the correct steps? I have seen some people mention USB programming instead?
