No it is quite right. This is v3.8, the 3.6 version had the connector like you said :).
But it doesn't really matter, I could have just used normal pin headers and then there wouldn't be right or wrong side :D.

Finally got all the components to build Bus Pirate v3.8.
The "slight" modification is I did not use FT232 but an equivalent from Cypress: CY7C65213 (hope that still counts :D ).
I used the equivalent because I had one lying from another project.
But it did not go without a problem. I am used to put the markings (in this case IC1) to the side where it is pin 1. But on BusPirate the marking IC1 is on the bottom of the IC. Good thing I noticed that before I plugged it in :).
Tested with a couple of I2C sensors and works flawlessly. I must say it is a must have tool.
Can't wait to build another one because I don't think one will be enough.
