Is it possible to record a whole remote and export it as a LIRC config?
Sure, that is what the "Scrutinize remote" pane is for. As soon as you have capturing running, you just read them in one batch, you can read in the signals and type the names in any order you like.  Then export as Lirc.
Works great so far :)
Can't say the same for LIRC.

Is it possible to trigger transmit events from example Domoticz?
Since its Java i guess it should run fine on my Raspberry Pi.
Ok, seems like irrecord at least starts up.and receives SOMETHING, at least the first time. This is good news. Then sometthing hangs :- possibly the IrToy...

If you want to use that 15 years old program, let me suggest that you post on the Lirc mailing list on sourceforge. Otherwise I would suggest using my program IrScrutinizer, preferably on  a PC (Linux, Windows, Mac), still using the IrToy, but connected to the PC. You can use it to generate a lirc.conf file that way.
Nice!

I only had time testing the program for a few minutes on my mac.
But it seems to work great :)

Ok so i almost got the irrecord to run.

Here is my output:

Code: [Select]
pi@raspberrypi ~ $ irrecord -n -H irtoy -d /dev/ttyACM0 RemoteXXX.conf

irrecord -  application for recording IR-codes for usage with lirc
Copyright (C) 1998,1999 Christoph Bartelmus(lirc@bartelmus.de)

This program will record the signals from your remote control
and create a config file for lircd.

A proper config file for lircd is maybe the most vital part of this
package, so you should invest some time to create a working config
file. Although I put a good deal of effort in this program it is often
not possible to automatically recognize all features of a remote
control. Often short-comings of the receiver hardware make it nearly
impossible. If you have problems to create a config file READ THE
DOCUMENTATION at https://sf.net/p/lirc-remotes/wiki

If there already is a remote control of the same brand available at
http://sf.net/p/lirc-remotes you might want to try using such a
remote as a template. The config files already contains all
parameters of the protocol used by remotes of a certain brand and
knowing these parameters makes the job of this program much
easier. There are also template files for the most common protocols
available. Templates can be downloaded using irdb-get(1). You use a
template file by providing the path of the file as a command line
parameter.

Please take the time to finish the file as described in
https://sourceforge.net/p/lirc-remotes/wiki/Checklist/ an send it
to  <lirc@bartelmus.de> so it can be made available to others.
Press RETURN to continue.

Checking for ambient light  creating too much disturbances.
Please don't press any buttons, just wait a few seconds...

No significant noise (received 0 bytes)

Enter name of remote (only ascii, no spaces) :Edifier
Using Edifier.lircd.conf as output filename

Now start pressing buttons on your remote control.

It is very important that you press many different buttons and hold them
down for approximately one second. Each button should generate at least one
dot but in no case more than ten dots of output.
Don't stop pressing buttons until two lines of dots (2x80) have been
generated.

Press RETURN now to start recording.
................................................................................
Got gap (108195 us)
Please keep on pressing buttons like described above.
.........................................................................................................Gap not found, can't continue

When i try to run it second time i get this:
Code: [Select]
Could not init hardware (lircd running ? --> close it, check permissions)

Feels like I'm getting close. But I need some help!

Ok, so i tried a different remote. Panasonic TV in this case.
Code: [Select]
Press RETURN now to start recording.
................................................................................
Got gap (1000000 us)
Please keep on pressing buttons like described above.
.....Signal too long
Creating config file in raw mode.

Please enter the name for the next button (press <ENTER> to finish recording)
VOLUME_UP
'VOLUME_UP' is not in name space (use --disable-namespace to override)
Press RETURN to continue.

The remote that didn't work is for a Edifier sound system.
At this time that is the most important remote to record.
It is just a few days old, so it is not yet available through apt-get. 0.9.2 will probably to too, but I doubt that it is apt-get-table either. Have to compile it yourself.
Ok, thanks.

I have no problem with compiling it myself.

USB Infrared Toy / Re: Raspian LIRC - Can't get it running!
Use version 0.9.2a. Supports IrToy natively, without patching.
Really? Because the first time i tried LIRC I installed it through the repo - apt-get install lirc.

I'll keep trying with 0.9.2a then :)
Thanks!

USB Infrared Toy / Raspian LIRC - Can't get it running!
Hi guys!

My head is about to explode!
I've been trying to get my IR Toy v2 to run with LIRC on Raspian.
Firmware is updated to v22.

For what i can understand, I need to patch LIRC. How?!
I tried downloading LIRC 0.9.0 & 0.9.1. Patching with these: http://sourceforge.net/p/lirc/tickets/20/

What i've done:
1. Download LIRC 0.9.* from http://sourceforge.net/projects/lirc/files/LIRC/
2. Untar
3. Download both patches
Code: [Select]
0001-Add-driver-for-USB-Infrared-Toy-in-sample-mode.patch.gz
0002-Add-USB-Infrared-Toy-driver-to-setup-system.patch.gz
4. Run patches with
Code: [Select]
zcat PATCH_NAME_HERE | patch -p1
Can't successfully patch! Heres what i get:
Code: [Select]
pi@raspberrypi ~/lirc-0.9.1 $ zcat 0001-Add-driver-for-USB-Infrared-Toy-in-sample-mode.patch.gz | patch -p1
patching file configure.ac

patching file setup.sh
Hunk #2 succeeded at 211 with fuzz 2.
Hunk #3 succeeded at 375 with fuzz 2.

Also, I have no ./autogen.sh or ./setup.sh

Cant believe there is no one else with my problem.
Hope you guys can give me a hand! I've spent waay to long time on this to just get it running.
