Open Bench Logic Sniffer / Fxing my Open Bench Logic
My Open Bench logic was involved in a power surge, the board wasn't on at the time but the gnd and one of the channels were connected.
since then the pic doesn't show up as usb to the pc, and the 3.3v reg gets very hot when plugging in, when removing it, the other regulator output the right voltage, but replacing it doesn't help and even a new one get hot.
when connecting the board the ONLY power led light up.
since this is open hardware i really like the idea to fix it and not throw away and get a new one. even if it will be close to the price of getting an new.
most parts i can handel but if the fpga is gone, i think il be able to solder it, but not sure about uploading firmware to it (the pic i can still manage), i think if the fpga is the only part that will be a deal breaker for this fix, if il find out its simple to upload firmware to i might give it a try.
im not sure how i can verify what parts are working and what parts are not other then the voltage regulators, and will appricate help on how to debug this.
thanks!
