does anyone have some experience with the IR-Toy using C#/.NET?
My intension is a piece of software on my media PC, that uses the IR-Toy as a univeral remote control, that I control with the keyboard. The current state of the project is, that I send the coammnds via commandline to the irtoy.exe (from the irtoy package). But it allways take some seconds to finish the process. So i want to send the commands directly via serial.
It works as a receiver. I can record my remote control with winlirc. But i want to use it as a sender (as an universal ir-rc on my media pc). I've read, that a firmware update is necessary for sending data.
Another try was to update via my linux server. But fw_update didn't compile, libusb is missing, although I installed the libusb-dev package. I'm not very fit with linux. Does someone have an idea for this? Or doeas someone have an x86 binary for me?
I want to update the ir toy, but the fw_update doesn't find the device. The pins are bridged and I see the device as a HID. The PID and VID are correct. (USBVID_04D8&PID_FD0B)
But when I want to read the firmware I allways get:
I just connected my fresh IR Toy v2 and tried to Update the firmware with Windows 8. At first I tried the Firmware kit with the Firmwarekit: USBIRToy.package.v22.zip --> update-USBIRToy.v22.bat But after reconnecting, the Ir Toy is still listed as an USB PID. I checked the USB-ID and its the the right one (0x04D8&0xFD0B)
So I tried the other way and shorted PGC and PGD and connected it again to USB (still listed as PID in the hardware list with the right ID). Now I ran the cmd and the firmwareupdater with: fw_update -e -w -v -m flash -vid 0x04D8 -pid 0xFD0B -ix USBIRToy.v22.hex The Output is: U2IO flash erasing: FAILED. Device is not found. Operation aborted.
that helped for me: ... Sorry, can't post links as new user - so: 1. Press Alt-I to open a Settings panel. Chose PC Settings (in the bottom) - Advanced startup - Restart now. On the blue screen select Troubleshoot, Advanced options, Startup Settings. Click Restart button. 2. When computer is rebooting the blue screen with Startup settings appears. Choose the 7th bullet "Disable driver signature enforcement". 3. After computer is started just repeat the driver installation process. But this time the Windows Security dialog pops up with a "Windows can't verify publisher of this driver software" warning.
