USB Infrared Toy / Buggy...
Ian,

Is there a bug free way to use IRToy in Linux, if not I would request you to pls. mention this "limited" Linux support at all the places one can buy this as this not only wastes them money but also gets frustrating with no help anywhere and almost non-existence of firmware updates or someone/community even willing to get over these bugs.

Pls. don't take this the wrong way, I appreciate your work but this is what I felt.

Thanks

USB Infrared Toy / Re: Serious IRToy v222 Bug
Thanks for finally attending to my queries. Ian, I guess IRToy should be more popular as an accessory to standalone portable-linux computers then windows, with Raspberry Pi so hugely popular now I would suggest it's time Linux support of IRToy gets bug free so it can grab the new market.

Why don't you get an RPi for yourself and play with IRToy on it to get things sorted out :)

USB Infrared Toy / Serious IRToy v222 Bug
IRToy v 22 seems to have a serious bug which makes it unresponsive after sometime.  The problem seems that the device goes into debug mode after some time of inactivity (or some other reason) and needs a replug to get working again. This is what I found using
Code: [Select]
lsusb -v | less

When working correctly :
Code: [Select]

  Device Status:    0x0000
  (Bus Powered)

When NOT :

Code: [Select]
  Device Status:     0x47d8
  (Bus Powered)
  Debug Mode

Any ideas, fixes, suggestions, comments ?

USB Infrared Toy / Re: Using the USB Infrared Toy IR tansmitter in Linux?
[quote author="EvanPurkhiser"]If anyone is interested, I've created a PKGBUILD file for the Arch Linux distribution that includes the Ir Toy v2 patch by Peter Kooiman.

You can find the package build file in a repository on my GitHub at github.com/EvanPurkhiser/irtoy-room-automation/

Sorry, I can't make it a link yet since it's my first post =)[/quote]

Hi Evan,

Pls. tell how to use your PKGBUILD to make package on Raspbian Wheezy (Debian for Raspberry Pi).

Thanks

USB Infrared Toy / Re: Raspberry Pi and IRToy v222
OK, I figured out this and used usb_irtoy as driver and the config file got created. Now when I use irw nothing is registered (when using remote in front of IRToy) and irsend says "transmission failed".

USB Infrared Toy / Raspberry Pi and IRToy v222
I am trying to get my USB IRToy v 2 with firmware 22 running on RPi (Debian wheezy), after almost 6 hours I finally got it recognized by Pi after installing patched LIRC for USB_IRTOY.

Now, when I try to run LIRC service no output is shown on screen and it just exits, irw and irrecord -n -H irman -d /dev/ttyACM0 RemoteXXX.conf show following errors :

Code: [Select]
root@NAS:~# irw
connect: Connection refused
root@NAS:~# irrecord -n -H irman -d /dev/ttyACM0 RemoteXXX.conf
Driver `irman' not supported.
Supported drivers:
        usb_irtoy

Pls. help.
