I'm also almost crazy trying to get something usable from windows (I abandon other alternatives like compiling under CYGWIN or using Ubuntu becouse of their complexity). I have follow all your steps, and some results. I have also test opencd 0.5.xxxx which includes a buspirate.cfg, but nothing useful.
Please may someone with some successfull experience in OPENOCD / buspirate, tell to newbies like us how to start with JTAG and OPENOCD with our buspirate?
I think key is finding some windows compilation with buspirate interface enable (openocd 0.4 and 0.5xxx windows distributions seems not to have that interface enabled).
Idea consist in create a wing using non buffered 16 bus and creating a 100M-200Msamples/s pattern generator or arbitrary waveform generator (if an external DAC is added to bidirectional non buffered outputs).
First of all, thanks for your fantastic work with this impressive tool.
Well, I would like to suggest if for version 5.7+ it would be interesting to add <=8 bits parallel mode like a raw5 mode (5 bit free mode with MOSI,MISO,CS,AUX,CLOCK) or also raw7(taking also as outputs PGC y PGD in the other connector). Also if we could re-use ADC input (configured as output) we could reach until a raw8 mode. It would allow to directly interface LCD screens like HD44780 (4bit mode) without the lcd adapter. I think it would cover almost every device we think about.
