Bus Pirate Support / Bootloader for Bus Pirate 3.8
I recently got my free PCB Bus Pirate v3.8. This was my first attempt at toaster oven reflow, and the soldering went fantastic! I'll post some pictures at the end of this post.

I'm wondering about the bootloader/firmware to use for this version. I downloaded the "BusPirate.package.v6.2-beta1" package from the Google Code site and flashed the BPv3-Bootloader-v4.4.hex file with my PIC programmer. Programming worked fine, I can read the code back off the device and verify it programmed correctly. But when I power it up, the "Mode" light doesn't come on. When I fire up the D30 loader to check for the bootloader, it just times out. I'm setting it to COM10, and increased the timeout to 10 seconds just to be sure.
*EDIT: I am also putting a jumper over PGC and PGD as instructed in the readme.

I am running Windows 8.1 and I've got the FTDI drivers installed.

Has anyone successfully burned the bootloader and then loaded the firmware via D30? Is there something else I need to be doing here?
